Kurt Busch wins at Bristol

Alfred Johnson
March 30, 2006

The 160,000 fans who packed Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday were treated to another entertaining stock-car shoving match on the 0.533-mile oval Busch used a brash bump on Kenseth, to race his way into the lead with four laps to go on Sunday then to win the Food City 500. Yet, the most controversial jostling happened after the Food City 500 had reached a wild conclusion. It was obvious that Kenseth was none too pleased with the maneuver that gave Busch his fifth win in the past nine Bristol races. Kenseth was leading but had slowed because he couldn't get past Dale Jarrett, who was fighting to stay on the lead lap. Busch rammed Kenseth's back bumper to send him into a slide, this allowed Busch to scoot on by and pull away to the win.

Busch celebrated his victory by jumping from his car, grabbing the checkered flag and doing snow angels on the finish line as a nod to the wintry weather that plagued the track all weekend.
