Gordon looking for the next victory

Alfred Johnson
April 26, 2007

The four-time series title holder, who is currently leading the Cup points’ standings, is seeking his victory No. 76 next Saturday night at the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.

Gordon’s had five top-five finishes and six top 10s in the first seven races this season -- but no wins.

Subway Fresh Fit 500 pole sitter, Gordon, led the final practice on Friday in preparation for Saturday's race, turning a lap of 129.562 mph in the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. The 312-lap race is scheduled to get the green flag at 8:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday.

Gordon said his Chevrolet Impala SS COT hasn't been the easiest car to drive.
