Tire Hurled by Auto Circles Farmer's Neck

Washington Times-Herald
December 24, 1922

CEDAR RAPIDS, Ia., Dec. 23.—An unidentified motorist pitched a ringer with an automobile tire near here recently, and Frank Kane, a farmer, has the evidence.

Kane was picking up corn in a field near the roadside when something struck him. Looking up he found an automobile tire encircling his body. It had been thrown by a machine which was fast disappearing up the road.
