New York Company Places Contracts with Amesbury Manufacturers.

Special to The New York Times.

AMESBURY, Mass., Feb. 20.—A representative of a New York automobile company was here to-day and placed with local carriage manufacturers probably the largest order ever received by them.  The contracts signed by the manufacturers call for the delivery of from 20 to 30 carriage bodies every day for one year.  The bodies are of various styles, and are to be shipped all finished and ready to be affixed to the gear parts.

As the price of the bodies range from $100 to $150, it is thought that the total amount of the orders will reach nearly $750,000.  The representative of the firm has forwarded the contracts to New York for approval.
