FOR THE MOTORIST

FOR THE MOTORIST

The New York Times
December 19, 1909

A novel hat protector that proves a boon in dusty as well as rainy days is made of rubberized silk to look like a bathing cap, only larger.  It can be pulled over the hat at a minute's notice and held in place under the brim by elastics.  As it is very soft, one's head does not look as if tied up in a paper bag, as might be imagined.

When not in use the protector can be crushed into a small space in bag or coat pocket.  If motoring in a hat that one wishes to look respectable at the end of a trip, this protector is almost as useful to keep out dirt as it is a rain preventive.
