Wyoming Woman Sentenced for Criminally Negligent Homicide

United States Attorney Christopher A. Crofts announced today that Jamie Chippewa, 25, of the Wind River Reservation, an enrolled Chippewa-Cree tribal member, was sentenced by Federal Magistrate Judge Richard G. Gist for criminally negligent homicide stemming from a two-vehicle crash on June 30, 2009. Chippewa was sentenced to two years of supervised probation with the first six months of her probation served in home confinement through the location monitoring program. Chippewa was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $19,216.72 and a $25.00 special assessment. This case was investigated by the Wind River Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
