Two Men Plead Guilty to Damaging a Bureau of Indian Affairs Vehicle

FARGO—U.S. Attorney Timothy Q. Purdon announced that on September 26, 2012, Welden Littleghost, 21, of Sheyenne, North Dakota, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Ralph R. Erickson to charges of damage to government property, possession of stolen firearms, and escape by prisoner. Co-defendant Lucas Little, 22, of Tokio, North Dakota, pleaded guilty on September 25, 2012, to the same charges. The incident occurred on August 24, 2011, on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation. Littleghost and Little are both facing a maximum of 21 years in prison.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Sentencing for Littleghost and Little has been scheduled for December 18, 2012, in U.S. District Court in Fargo, North Dakota, at 2:15 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Janice M. Morley is prosecuting the case.
