The U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today posted the results of dynamic rollover retests for the Saturn VUE, both the 4x4 and 4x2 models. The results are available at: http://www.safercar.gov/.

Both Saturn VUEs tipped up during dynamic rollover testing, and each received three-star rollover resistance ratings out of a possible five stars. The 4x4 VUE has a calculated risk of rollover in a single vehicle crash of 20.3 percent. The 4x2 VUE has a calculated risk of 22.3 percent.

The test results and ratings apply to Saturn VUEs manufactured on or after July 30, 2004. Testing of earlier versions of the VUE could not be completed because, according to NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation, the left rear suspension failed during the tests. A voluntary recall was initiated by General Motors to address the suspension problem in vehicles manufactured prior to July 30, 2004.
