Garrett Marchant
CHARLOTTE NC (September 23, 2013) – They say green in racing is a bad thing and for driver of the No. 77 Lone Star Car Transportation Chevy, Garrett Marchant, that can be applied to his day on Saturday. The day started out at the Ducky Derby in Roanoke Rapids where the No. 77 sat in the grass as part of an appearance Marchant made. Following the event the car was loaded up and headed to East Carolina Motor Speedway where green was all over the radar – but was not coming down to the track.

Garrett Marchant would take the green flag for 75 laps of racing starting in the sixth spot and where he would eventually be scored after a nearly all green flag race. Marchant raced hard to stay on the lead lap and would eventually be caught by the leader around lap 60 but a caution fell soon after. Per race officials during the race, Marchant was waived around to be back on the lead lap with less than 15 laps to go. Once the race got restarted the No. 77 @WalgreensCVAZ Chevy took off and charged after the fifth position. Garrett Marchant would eventually catch the 45, who was holding the fifth spot and pass him out of turn two.

When the checkered flag fell Marchant and the BMR Motorsports team believed the 77 finished the 75 late model race in the fifth spot. Upon talking to officials they notified the team they do not do wave arounds and Marchant was scored in the sixth spot. It is okay because Marchant and the team are ready to come back and compete even harder.

“It was a good solid run for our No. 77 Keen Parts / www.CorvetteParts.net Chevy, started really tight all the way through the center of three and four we had a good car all night in one and two,” Garrett Marchant said. “We are coming back next week for the season finale out here, and hopefully we can improve on a top 5 finish, and get a victory that would be the ideal situation to close out our season here and launch us into a three race stretch with the SELLM tour. Thanks to everyone that helped out tonight, were close – but close don’t count.
