CHARLOTTE NC (August 8, 2012) – As the days on the racing calendar are becoming less and less, Garrett Marchant is looking for more and more on the track. Marchant will be racing this weekend at Southern National Motorsports Park behind the wheel of his No. 77 Lone Star Car Transportation / Walgreens of Chino Valley, AZ / Rideinsane.com Limited Late Model Chevy. The race this weekend will feature twin 35 lap races for the limited late models after a break from racing action.

Garrett’s time off has allowed him to have his first ever fan appreciation event at Fairwoods Bowling Alley which raised money for Racing 2 Cure. The time also allowed Marchant to refocus and get ready for the fall portion of his racing season. Entering this weekend’s race, Garrett Marchant is in sixth place in the point standings with eight races to go. Marchant has also not been able to get the monkey off his back and get his first ever Top 5 finish in the Limited Late model series.

“It was nice to relax with family and friends. I was also able to refocus for the rest of the season at Southern National. I am looking forward to working on my long run strategy, as well as stepping up as the driver behind the wheel of the No.77. I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel and give it my all and get that first top five finish for the season and my career,” Marchant explained. “I am more focused and determined than ever before and good things are coming!”

Fans can keep up to date on the racing action this weekend at Southern National by following Garrett on his Twitter, @GMarchant77, as well as periodically updates through the PR account, @GMR77PR.
