Patrick Sheltra Feeling Refreshed Heading To Music City

LEBANON, Tennessee (Wednesday, August 8, 2007) - - After a much needed vacation in the Florida Keys, ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Patrick Sheltra heads to Nashville Superspeedway quietly looking to redeem himself from the April race, while also hoping to be in contention for his first career victory in Saturday’s TOYOTA ARCA 150.

Sheltra, driving the Sheltra Motorsports Chevrolet has shown consistency in the last half-dozen races including a whopping fourth place finish at Berlin Raceway. After a 11th place finish last weekend at Pocono Raceway last weekend, the avid racecar driver wants to put his No. 60 Chevrolet back into the top-10 and keep the confidence going heading into the final two months of racing.

“I’m feeling refreshed and ready to go,” said Sheltra, who sits eighth in the championship standings heading into the 15th race of the season. We’ve quietly moved from 10th to eighth and we’re itching for more. Seventh place is within reach this weekend, but I would rather settle for my second career top-five.”

After missing Daytona, Sheltra has had to climb the ladder and work through some ups and downs to prove himself as a worthy contender in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. With a good and clean run at the 1.333-mile facility this weekend, Sheltra feels he can continue to breathe in the consistency he is looking for.

“I’m having a blast,” continued Sheltra. “I love competing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. This is my first full year, but it’s also been a year of a lot of learning. I think Nashville presents another race where I’ll be able to learn something. We didn’t have the best run here in April, but now the team is running much better and I think we’ll come out of the box strong and in contention.”

Sheltra added, “Nashville Superspeedway, its concrete! Even though the tracks aren’t that similar, I compare this place to Dover International Speedway. I’ve never been there, but Nashville has been known to eat a lot of cars. Dover is well known for that too, so I put the two tracks hand-in-hand. The track can come out and bite you at any second, it happened to us in April. Hopefully we’ve paid our dues and we can notch our third top-10 finish of the season.”

For the first time in his ARCA career, Sheltra will carry an on-board camera Saturday for the 15th ARCA race of the season. Sheltra is hoping the extra exposure will be a good luck charm, helping reel in a good finish.

“The entire team is excited about having an in-car camera, but I am thrilled. I’ve always wanted to have one and Nashville is our turn. Hopefully everything can go our way and we can deliver a good amount of exposure for our sponsors and show the fans at home a great race,” Sheltra concluded.

Continuing their sponsorship of Sheltra's No. 60 entry this weekend is CP Concrete Products, US Construction, SawHorse Outfitters, Brady Ranch and FloraGanics.

The TOYOTA ARCA 150 (113 laps/150 miles) is the 15 of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 14th ARCA race held at Nashville Superspeedway is a two-day show. Practice begins Friday, August 10 with a two hour and a half hour (11:00am-1:30pm) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 5:30pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag on Saturday, August 11 shortly after 2:30pm Local Time with live coverage on SPEED. Additional race coverage can be found online at arcaracing.com
