ARCA RE/MAX Series Race No. 22, ARCA RE/MAX 250, Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega , Alabama

Race Information: Event: ARCA RE/MAX 250, Friday, October 5 at 4:00 p.m. Local Time Track: Talladega Superspeedway Qualifying: Thursday, October 4 at 3:30 p.m. Local Time Track Length: 2.666-mile paved-oval.

Salem Recap: ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Dominick Casola continued to show maturity and strength in the last race at Salem Speedway last month. After qualifying 16th, Casola patiently moved forward during the 200 lap event and appeared to be heading towards his third top-10 finish of the season before being spun out late in the race relegating the New Jersey native to a 15th place finish.

Welcome To ‘Dega: For the first time in his ARCA RE/MAX Series career, Dominick Casola will compete at Talladega Superspeedway. The second and final restrictor plate race of the season also equals the final track greater than a half-mile left on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Casola did not compete in the first restrictor plate of the season thus making Talladega his first and only restrictor plate start this season.

Time Equals Success: If you took a poll around the ARCA RE/MAX Series garage, many would point fingers to Dominick Casola and Andy Belmont Racing as a driver and team who has picked up the most steam in the last handful of races. In addition to showing extreme consistency, the duo claimed a stout fifth place finish at Gateway International Raceway making him a driver to watch in the last two events of the season.

A New Look: As the ARCA RE/MAX Series teams unload at Talladega Superspeedway on Wednesday, the Andy Belmont Racing team will unveil a different paint scheme for the final two races of the year. Instead of their normal white No. 1 Ford Fusion, the team will sport a black No. 1 Ford Fusion with Halloween figurines promoting sponsor A. Casola Farms Halloween fun and new sponsor Complete Security Systems on the decklid.

Are You Ready For Halloween?: Every year Casola’s sponsor A. Casola Farms offers New Jersey natives the opportunity to head to their farm for a day full of fun and activities celebrating the traditions of Halloween. Coming in late September and all of October, A. Casola Farms will have daily pumpkin pickings, hay rides, petting zoos, corn mazes and their haunted hay rides at night. And new for this year, A. Casola Farms will also open their Motorsports exhibit, not to mention the traditional fall cider and donuts. For an official list of activities and times, please call 732.332.1533

Watcha Haulin?: Crew Chief Andy Belmont has elected to bring Casola “Awesommo 5000” to Talladega Superspeedway this week. This is the same Ford Fusion that Casola tested with at the 2.666-mile facility last week for a two day test on Monday and Tuesday. The results were impressive giving the team extremely high hopes for the ARCA RE/MAX 250.

Point Standings: Competing in 20 of the 21 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Casola sits 14th in the championship standings with two races remaining in his first season of ARCA competition. Casola is only 150 markers from moving into the top-12 currently held by female rookie Gabi DiCarlo. 40 credits separate Casola from entering the 13th position held by ARCA veteran Mike Harmon.

Andy Belmont Racing, Talladega Superspeedway Pre-Race Quotes:

Dominick Casola, driver of the No. 1 A. Casola Farms Ford:

On Salem : “It seems like a long time ago. We had a good night going at Salem Speedway. Our car was very good and I was very confident we had another top-10 in the books, but we got spun out late in the race and that killed us. We bounced back with a top-15 finish, but we were better than that, a lot better.”

On Talladega Superspeedway: “I am so excited about going to Talladega Superspeedway. I’ve been waiting for this race since the start of the season and it’s finally here. We’ve spent a lot of time on this race and I hope it will pay off for us on Friday afternoon.”

On The Talladega Test: “The test went very well. I want to say thanks to my car owner Andy Belmont and Jeff McClure for making it possible. We have a great car and we were able to find that out thanks to the test. We tested two days and I really think the extra track time will pay off.”

On The Points Standings: “Points are tight. My goal is to end the season in the top-12 and believe me I’m going to do everything I can to make it happen. Andy (Belmont, car owner) has been giving me great cars and we know with a little luck we’ll be a factor in the next two races.”

Andy Belmont Racing, Talladega Superspeedway Pre-Race Quotes:

Andy Belmont, owner of the No. 1 A. Casola Farms Ford:

On Talladega : “I tell you, everyone on the Andy Belmont Racing team is excited to be going back to Talladega . We spent a lot of time at the track last Monday and Tuesday getting Dominick comfortable with the track and the car. I honesty believe we’ll have one of the better Fords in the field. I am looking for a good finish on Friday night.”

On Restrictor Plate Racing: “Dominick has a lot to learn, this will be a huge change from how he is used to racing. There is nothing you can compare Daytona and Talladega to. He’s felt the draft on a few of the speedways but nothing like what this race will show for him. Keeping the car out of trouble is key for a good finish at Talladega . We will try to race smart and hope that we’re positioned in the right place all day long.”
