“Driver / Crew Chief To Be Rivals Before Pairing Up For ARCA Contest”

Brett Hudson
SALEM, Indiana (April 28, 2011) - - Still riding the wave of a superb fourth place finish at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, Owensboro, Kentucky native Brett Hudson returns to normal territory this weekend as the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards makes their yearly spring trip to Salem (Ind.) Speedway for the running of the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200.

This weekend will be extremely busy for Hudson. In addition to running the third ARCA race of the season, the late model ace will also compete in the Frank Kimmel Street Stock event set to compete before ARCA’s grueling 200-lap battle on Sunday afternoon. Hudson is a two-time Street Stock winner at Salem (Ind.) Speedway, including the 2010 Firecracker 200 and Halloween 200.

Not only will Hudson have to battle against some of his most fierce rivals in his No. 00 Hudson Motorsports Chevrolet Street Stock, but John Hayden, Hudson’s crew chief is also entered in the Street Stock event offering a unique situation for the BHM team this weekend.

“I’m ready to roll,” said Hudson. “We should have two fast cars this weekend. I’ve always been a fan of the street stock races at Salem and I’m glad to be ARCA Racing at Salem too. Racing against John is either going to be a real good thing or a real bad thing,” Hudson laughed. “Hopefully we’ll be chasing each other on the track and deciding the win for ourselves and not ending up on the sidelines because of something happening on the track.”

No matter what the finish, Hudson will have little time to reflect as the ARCA Racing Series stars will take center stage at the historic half-mile oval a short time later. Hudson returns to ARCA competition at the Southern Indiana track for the first time since 2009 where Hudson maneuvered a ninth place finish.

In fact, Hudson has produced five of his 11 top-10 finishes at Salem Speedway including a matching career-best finish of fourth in 2007.

“Most of the time, Salem is about luck. You can have a rocket there but if you get entangled in someone else’s mess, your day can be done in an instant. We’ve worked hard to make sure we can come to Salem this weekend and stay away from any disaster and maybe just maybe put ourselves in victory lane. It sure would be a great way to build on Talladega.”

For the second consecutive race, the Hudson Motorsports team will bring awareness to a big fan of theirs, Harlie Bryant. Recently diagnosed with brain cancer, Bryant is scheduled for surgery on May 12th. After racing for many thoughts and prayers at Talladega two weeks ago, Harlie and her family will attend the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 and be apart of the pre-race festivities on Sunday.”

“It will be such a joy to have Harlie and her family at Salem this weekend,” continued Hudson. “She is such an adorable little girl. There are no words to describe what she is going through; let alone her family. All we can do is make them feel welcome this weekend and hope we can ease their mind with what’s going on with a great run on Sunday afternoon. It sure would be great to take Harlie to victory lane!”

In addition to Hudson Performance Drivelines, Double H Hydraulics, Race Engines Plus (REP), G&A Trucking, Gene Patient Fabrication (GPF) and Warricktubing.com join the team as associate marketing partners in the third of 19 ARCA races this season.

In 23 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards starts, Hudson has produced three top-fives including a career best of fourth at Salem (Ind.) Speedway in 2007 and Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway (April 2011) and 11 top-10 finishes overall. Hudson has one career ARCA pole also coming at Salem (Ind.) Speedway in 2005 driving the No. 62 Hudson Machine Shop Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Additional sponsorship opportunities are still available for this weekend’s activities. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Lisa Hudson of Brett Hudson Motorsports at 270.929.2160 or hudson00@adelphia.net.
