RANDLEMAN, North Carolina (July 28, 2012) - - NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) driver Ryan Wilson (@RyanWilson12) and his Ryan Wilson Motorsports (RWM) team will return to the racing after a brief three week break this Saturday night for a double-dose of 75 laps of competition at Southern National (N.C.) Motorsports Park (SNMP).

The time outside of the cockpit of a racecar can be aggravating for any driver – Wilson included. No more worrying though for the Randleman, North Carolina native or his team as the weekend has arrived and they are hoping to celebrate in a big way Saturday night in their No. 12 Southern Pharmacy Services / Randolph Bank Toyota Camry.

The Thomasville, North Carolina-based team will make just their fourth start at the historic short track this weekend but are in search of their second win of the season and first podium run since the team’s season debut at the 4/10-mile oval back in March.

RWM, a family-owned operation has shown immense speed throughout the year.

Despite their speed and determination, the team hasn’t always had the finishes to show for their performances as trouble has often snakebitten Wilson and his group through 13 races this year. Still, the team has impressively amassed eight top-fives and 12 top-10 finishes including a win at the team’s hometown track of Caraway on April 7.

But now, the rising star along with his devoted team are ready to prove that their victory earlier this year was no fluke and they are more than capable of capturing the checkered flag again – even it means coming at a different track.

“We’re ready to win and I mean ready,” said Wilson, the 2010 fall winner of Richard Petty Driver Search II. “We haven’t been able to race as much as we really have wanted to this year – but still, when we’ve gone out, we’ve tried to give no less than 110 percent. I have such a great group of guys who live and breathe racing and another win will give us a great boost of confidence.”

Earlier this month, the team participated in the annual Fourth of July race at his hometown track of Caraway (N.C.) Speedway. In a specially designed No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry courtesy of Wilson’s second-annual “Design The Ride” contest, the handling of their automobile during the course of the 200 laps proved to be trying, but still Wilson would persevere to a hard fought 10th place run.

“We’ve proven a lot this year that we’re more than a 10th place car,” the driver explained. “For whatever reason, we just couldn’t get our car to adapt to the track’s conditions. We fought hard and we’re fighting harder this weekend because we want to positions ourselves back in the top-five where we know we belong.”

When it comes to seeing the checkered flag in both feature events this weekend, the youngster insisted that patience will be vital towards finishing near the front. “75 laps go by quick at SNMP,” he said. “You have to exercise patience, but you can’t be willing to leave a gap or let the others get away. If you do, it’s extremely hard to catch back up. We’ll practice on Friday and hope we can take from what we’ve learned then and apply it towards the race.”

Wilson concluded by saying, “I just want to thank Kirk (Bryant, crew chief), the Ryan Wilson Motorsports crew and all of our sponsors including Southern Pharmacy Services and Randolph Bank for their hard work and support. I’m eager for Saturday night and I hope with a little luck we’re able to deliver!”

Action begins at Southern National (N.C.) Motorsports Park on Saturday, July 28. Practice begins at 2:00 p.m. sharp followed by qualifying at 5:00 p.m. and racing by 7:00 p.m. that night. The team took advantage of an open-practice yesterday, Friday, July 27.
