ASHEBORO, North Carolina (July 20, 2011) - - Randleman, North Carolina native Ryan Wilson captured two top-10 finishes this past Saturday night at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway, adding two more tallies to what has been a strong season in the NASCAR Whelen-All American Series (NWAAS) in the No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry.

After finishing sixth in his most recent contest at the historic short track earlier this month in a creatively designed No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry decked out with the patriotic colors of the American flag created by 11-year old Nathan Harris of Ramseur, North Carolina.

The winner of last Fall’s Richard Petty Driver Search II strapped into his Japanese nameplate last weekend for the first of two races.

Description: WilsonAfter qualifying fourth for the first 50-lap dash, Wilson would be handed the top-starting spot through a qualifying re-draw. During the race, Wilson kept his No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry out front for half of the contest before eventually sliding back to second where he took the checkered flag.

Officials elected to invert the top-eight finishers from the first race which lined up Wilson in the seventh spot. During the extremely quick 50-lap race, Wilson’s No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry delivered handling issues which cost the rising star a spot on the racetrack dropping to eighth where he would take the checkered flag.

“We had a great first race,” offered Wilson. “The car was really good. As far as the second race, I can’t explain what happened. Our No. 12 Randolph Bank Toyota Camry just couldn’t get hooked up to the track and we struggled with the handling. It’s baffling; especially because of how fast our car was earlier. I guess that how it goes sometimes. I just want to thank Randolph Bank, the Ryan Wilson Motorsports crew and all of those who support us. We’re going to get a win before season’s end.”

In 11 races at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway this season, Wilson has secured one pole, four top-fives and nine top-10s.

Electing to take the weekend off will be fitting for Wilson as next week will be extremely busy for the ARCA-bound driver. Next Thursday (July 28), Wilson will make his 2011 ARCA Racing Series debut for Win-Tron Racing at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis behind the wheel of the No. 32 Champion Brands Toyota Camry before returning to North Carolina to compete in a Late Model race on Friday (July 29) at Ace Speedway before returning to Caraway for another night of battle on Saturday (July 30).

“Three races in three nights is big for me, but I’m ready,” sounded Wilson. “I’m excited about returning to the ARCA Racing Series with my new team Win-Tron Racing. They scored a win a couple weeks ago at Berlin (Mich.) Raceway, so I’m excited about getting the opportunity to maybe put them back there again. My passion and adrenaline for racing will hopefully make those nights competitive too.”
