DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (February 13, 2012) - - The 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season-opener is set for Saturday afternoon at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and if there’s a new driver and team combination that is capable of pulling off a memorable feat, Andy Belmont Racing (ABR) and Mikey Kile just seem to be that perfect fit.

Kile, returning to the ARCA Racing Series circuit full-time since 2010 will look to guide the No. 1 ModSpace Ford Fusion to his second career-victory and ABR’s first at the “World Center of Racing.” The team spearheaded by crew chief Jeff McClure has worked fiercely on their blue oval since the open-test in December where the team left the 2.5-mile speedway confident in their superspeedway program.

“We’re excited for Daytona,” said team principal Andy Belmont. “All of our marketing partners have really taken a liking to Mikey (Kile) and it’s been a phenomenal winter in the shop as the guys have worked extremely hard to give us a hot rod for not only this weekend but all season long.”

With the competition in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards continuing to increase, ABR has raised the bar themselves with each approaching season with many taking to note the team’s strength on the superspeedways.

“Everyone wants to say that they’ve won at Daytona and we feel like we can do that with a driver like Mikey Kile and a sponsor in ModSpace,” added Belmont. “Over the last couple of years we’ve really picked up the pace at tracks like Daytona and Talladega and that’s something to be proud of. Our No. 1 ModSpace Ford Fusion should be just as strong if not stronger than last year and we’re looking forward to battle Saturday.”

For 29-year old Kile, the opportunity to run up front at Daytona is achievable and he’s ready to make the most out of the opportunity. “I’m looking forward to the year with ABR and ModSpace,” said Kile, who will make his third career start at DIS. “The guys have really busted their tails to make sure our No.1 ModSpace Ford is as smooth as glass. As a team, we just have to be patient, make the right calls and be around in the end, when it counts.”

Set to make another bid at a championship effort, Kile knows that starting off a season with an impressive run can be the momentum that propels you all year long. “ABR showed right out of the box last February that they were contenders for a championship and together we have that same approach for 2012. I’m eager to work with a veteran like Jeff (McClure) and run a Ford in ARCA. Not only does it take a lot of determination, time and effort towards winning a championship but a lot of heart too and there’s plenty of that to be seen with this team.”

ABR will field a second-entry and a teammate to Kile with NASCAR K&N West Series standout Brandon Davis at the helm of the No. 2 ModSpace Ford Fusion. With Davis added into the spectrum, ABR exemplifies the perfect medication towards the prime opportunity to winning at Daytona; a drafting partner.

The Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona (80 laps / 200 miles) is the first of 20 events on the 2012 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule. The 49th ARCA race held at Daytona is a three-day show. Practice begins Thursday, February 16 with a four hour practice session planned from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Menards pole qualifying presented by Ansell is set for Friday, February 17 slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. A forty-five minute final practice session is etched in on Saturday, February 18th from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. The event will take the green flag later that day shortly after 4:30 p.m. The race will be televised live on SPEED with additional race coverage including live timing and scoring and radio broadcast through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com. All times are local. ARCA, celebrating its 60th season in 2012 is the preamble for the highly anticipated Budweiser Shootout for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) set to ignite under the lights later that night.
