CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (September 18, 2009) - - Michelle Hillenburg, wife of 1995 ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion Andy Hillenburg is resting comfortably in a Charlotte, North Carolina hospital after becoming severely ill earlier this week.

Michelle Hillenburg is expected to remain under Doctor’s care at the Charlotte area facility for the next five to seven days before being released to recover at home.

Andy Hillenburg, owner of Rockingham Speedway and Fast Track Racing, will miss Saturday night’s Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Salem Speedway with his driver Bryan Silas to remain at his wife’s side.

“I appreciate the support of everyone. I’m speechless,” said Andy Hillenburg. “I’m a racer at heart but my wife and family are the most important thing in my life. I’ll be back at the racetrack soon.”

Hillenburg’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series program will also compete in Saturday’s Heluva Good 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) despite his absence.

Get Well wishes for Michelle Hillenburg are being accepted by mail at Rockingham Speedway ( 2152 U.S. Highway 1, Rockingham , North Carolina 28379-8702 ).
