At first glance this VW Golf Rallye G60 doesn't look special. With it's boxy body kit, narrow wheels and square headlamps you'd be forgiven for mistaking it for an enthusiastically modified Golf. But you would be wrong.

The Golf Rallye was actually a limited edition homologation run made by Volkswagen in order to go rallying in the Group A category of the WRC. Remember Group A? It was the underdog to the infamous Group B class and when Group B was banned Group A became the top class (confused yet?)

With the likes of Lancia, Toyota and Ford turning their attentions to producing Group A machines in 1990 the Golf Rallye was VW's attempt to match the big boys. Sadly it never really happened. VW entered the Golf in the Acropolis, New Zealand and Australian rounds of the WRC in 1990 but never bothered the leader boards.

Notwithstanding that - this car is one of only 5,000 made (all were in left hand drive) and has a 1.8 litre, supercharged engine with 160bhp, 4 wheel drive and does 0-60mph in 8.6 seconds.

OK it isn't going to set the world on fire but it is rare, only 100 were imported into the UK and only 30 are thought to be still in existence, and it is a real World Rally homologation special. This one has been kept as standard and has been extensively refurbished.

The price may seem high, at £10,995, but it can only go up in value if looked after properly. Full eBay advert below. You can see the ad at this link.

Welcome to my 1990 Volkswagen Golf 1.8 Rallye Supercharged. This vehicle has had no expense spared during its full refurb and drives and feels like a new. Car. This is not surprising considering the new parts it has had replaced. Please see list below

Fully refurbished Supercharger
Flywheel
Clutch
New Brakes all round
Coli springs
Shock absorbers
All suspension arms removed shot blasted and re-bushed
All wheels fully refurbished including 2 spares
Full Strip and Respray (Body work like brand new)
All Leather Seats Refurbished (Original Interior)
Full Stainless Steel Exhaust System with lifetime Warranty

The list goes on and on and too much to list here. (Call for more info)

All parts that have been replaced are genuine VW and work has been done by a VW approved body repair centre

This vehicle is very rare and only 5000 were ever produced. Only around 30 of these are left in the UK and on the road.

The car comes with a spare key, Service History, and a large pile of receipts and invoices

The car boasts Power Steering, Electric Windows, Sunroof, CD Player

It really is a head turner and needs to be viewed and driven to appreciate it's quality and the time and money spent on restoring it to its original beauty.
