Massa to stay with Ferrari?

Felipe Massa
Felipe Massa is to remain with Ferrari and has signed a contract with them for 2013.

So says Swiss website, www.blick.ch, who proclaim inside information. They say: "The end all speculation: Felipe Massa (31) runs in 2013 at Ferrari - it will be his eighth season in red! "

If this is true, and it does feel vaguely similar to the Rossi to Yamaha rumours that turned out to be true, so ends months of speculation regarding the future of Massa and who would be his replacement at Ferrari.

To be fair, Ferrari have been making positive sounds about Felipe recently, despite his poor form and the fact his lack of results mean they are in third place in the F1 Championship, despite Fernando Alonso topping the drivers standings.

Alonso said this of Massa last weekend: "With all the names you hear, if you compare what Felipe has done and what these little names have done. In my opinion, we need to have a driver that respects Ferrari, that respects the tradition that here we work for the team, for the red cars."

The 'little names' Fernando refers to obviously mean Sergio Perez, Nico Hulkenberg and Paul DiResta.

We'll report more as and when information becomes available.
