Get Your Game Plan Ready!

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
1 February 2016

Are you drinking or are you driving?

The Super Bowl is America’s most watched national sporting event. On Super Bowl 50 Sunday, February 7, there will be lots of game day socializing that may include drinking. That’s why the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is urging football fans to call the play now: drinking OR driving. If you plan on drinking on Super Bowl Sunday, designate a sober driver to get you home safely.

So in preparation for this event, NHTSA is hosting a Twitter chat on Feb. 4, 2016 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. ET to provide stats and hosting tips to ensure football fans and families have a safe and fun game. Experts will be available to answer questions while you are able to spread the word to your followers and encourage fans not to drive drunk. We've also got plenty of other resources available for you to help spread this live saving message far and wide.

Who: NHTSA and our team of experts

What: Fans Don't Let Fans Drive Drunk Twitter Chat

When: Thursday, February 4, 2016, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. ET

Where: www.twitter.com/NHTSAgov

How: Follow the conversation using the hashtag #DontDriveDrunk. Feel free to mention @NHTSAgov in any of your tweets and we will get back to as many questions and comments as we can! Remember to include #DontDriveDrunk in your comments so others can follow along the conversation, too.

Invite your friends and followers to join us and help spread the important message about designating a sober driver. Drunk driving is completely preventable. All it takes is a little planning. We want fans to remember that it’s a choice. Drink or drive—but never do both.
