Juan Pablo Montoya establece nuevo récord de velocidad en Fórmula 1

Monza, Italia – El Piloto de Fórmula 1 Juan Pablo Montoya estableció un nuevo récord de velocidad al lograr llegar a los 372,6 kilómetros por hora durante la sesión de prácticas del 25 de agosto del 2005 al volante de su McLaren-Mercedes. El anuncio fue hecho hace pocas horas y fue confirmado por los responsables de la carrera.

El anterior récord lo estableció Antonio Pizzonia al volante de un Williams BMW en este mismo circuito durante el Gran Premio de 2004 estableciendo la marca de 369,9 kilómetros por hora.

Si bien el nuevo récord es extraoficial, por haberse establecido en prácticas y no durante una carrera, es cierto que Montoya es ahora el hombre más rápido de la Fórmula 1. El piloto colombiano no tiene este año oportunidad de ganar el Campeonato de pilotos, liderado por el español Fernando Alonso, sin embargo, los puntos que anote son importantes para la posición de su equipo en el campeonato de constructores, todavía en disputa entre Renault y McLaren-Mercedes.
