Dexter Bean Excited About Kentucky Return

“Wisconsin Native Has Been Anxiously Waiting For Bluegrass Return”

SPARTA, Kentucky (July 11, 2007) - - ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) sophomore driver Dexter Bean enjoys competing on any racetrack. But, you wouldn’t have known that as the likable driver has been eagerly awaiting the series return to Kentucky Speedway and that’s all he has been talking about.

Bean is a huge fan of the 1.5-mile speed plant and his results have shown. With consistent finishes around the Sparta , Kentucky track, Bean is ready to leave his mark on the historic track’s image by capturing the win in Friday’s WLWT Channel 5-150.

Another reason that Bean is so anxious to return to Kentucky Speedway is the Westby, Wisconsin native is seeking redemption from a potential top-five finish gone bad. In May, Bean was setting his own precedence around the facility by hovering solidly in the top-five surrounded by the heavily funded developmental teams of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series. Unfortunately, a cut tire inside 10 laps from the finish saw Bean drop from fourth to 15th in the final rundown.

With the finish far behind him, Friday’s rematch offers an opportunity for Bean to once again step up and face the odds and put his BlackJack Racing team up front.

“Kentucky Speedway, I love coming here. It’s one of those tracks, I just enjoy going to. We had a good run in the spring, I have even higher hopes for this week’s race, I just need a little luck and the rest should be history.”

Sitting fourth in the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship standings means a lot to the NASCAR-bound driver. Last year, his team struggled in their inaugural season. The rookie team found themselves struggling to bounce back from uncontrollable circumstances, Bean knows the turnaround season has made a huge impact on his team and he’s relying on the same upbeat performance this week.

“We had some good runs last year, even here in this same race at Kentucky and we were ejected from the race with some bad luck. This has been a great season for us. We are still in the hunt for the championship. It’s ours to lose and ours to win. I have some really good tracks coming up on the schedule and I know that our determination and dedication will take this team a long way. I’m really proud of my guys, without them I would not be where I am.”

Still being eluded his first victory on the ARCA RE/MAX Series has been on the back of Bean’s mind a lot this season. With second place finishes at Salem Speedway and Pocono Raceway, Bean reminds himself it’s just a matter of time before he is number one.

“It’s very possible that we have all the key elements to grab the victory this season. We’re bringing a great car, Tesar performance will be under the hood and the entire team is pumped up. This track owes me one in sorts, I would love to steal the spotlight on Friday and put us in victory lane,” added Bean.

While BlackJack Racing is still searching for additional sponsorship of Bean’s No. 6 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, the team is glad to have local longtime supporter Five Star Telecom on board as an associate sponsor.

Since their beginning in 1973, FST (Five Star Telecom), a long-time supporter of Bean’s racing career has become one of the largest interconnect companies in the Upper Midwest , with multiple locations serving the tri-state area.

Rolling into Kentucky, Dexter Bean has 39 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his credit with four-top fives finishes and 11 top-10 efforts. He holds a career best finish of second at Salem Speedway and Pocono Raceway (April 2007 and June 2007). He owns the 2006 ARCA SIM Factory pole award at Salem Speedway (September) while hoisting a career-best speedway time trials effort of fourth at Pocono Raceway (June 2006). Bean also has controlled the ARCA field for 138 laps in six races.

BlackJack Racing is still seeking additional primary and associate sponsors for the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season. For sponsorship inquiries, please contact BlackJack Racing at david@mwt.net or 608.634.4242.

The WLWT Channel 5-150 (100 laps/150 miles) is the 13 of 23 races on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The 13th ARCA race held at Kentucky Speedway is a one-day show. Practice begins Friday, July 13 with a two hour and 15 minute (11:30am-1:45pm) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is set for later in the day at 4:30pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag shortly after 8:00pm Local Time with live coverage on SPEED. Additional race coverage can be found online at arcaracing.com
