KANSAS CITY, Kansas (September 29, 2009) - - Stuart, Florida native Bryan Silas will secure a major milestone this week at Kansas Speedway as the veteran driver will make his 70th career ARCA start in Thursday’s Kansas Lottery 150 at Kansas Speedway.

With 69 races complete, Silas has been close to victory but yet to experience the feeling and hubbub of that first win. But with the strength of the Fast Track Racing team’s mile-and-a-half program this year it’s without hesitation that eyes are on the 22 year-old in the next to last race of the season.

In two career starts at Kansas Speedway, the former late model driver has only been able to manage a best finish of 16th but after literally a breakout season that has seen the No. 11 Palm Beach Grading-Rockingham Speedway Ford Fusion a similar icon in the top-five – the team’s 11th top-10 run of the season is all but inevitable.

“I’m heading to Kansas looking for a little redemption,” said Silas. “I messed up at Chicagoland and cost us a top-five – so here’s my chance to make up for it. I’m not going to try and be a hero. I’m just going to do what I’ve been doing and concentrate on keeping our car near the front. Last year this race was in the Spring, this year it’s in the fall and I feel the change will be to our benefit.”

Talking about his stellar season, Silas hasn’t been able to pin-point one exact reason for the magic in his third year of ARCA competition but he has been able to nail down a number of specifics. “Our team has a lot of driver,” mentioned Silas. “I can’t even begin to tell you how proud I am to have Cal (Boprey, Crew Chief) calling the shots and Andy (Hillenburg, Car Owner) on my side. The guys that work on the team come in with a positive attitude and with the goals that we can win races. As a driver that just gets me excited about climbing in the car and doing my job.”

With just Kansas and Rockingham left on the ARCA agenda in 2009, Silas is on track to post a career-best finish in the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship standings. In 2007, Silas finished ninth but fell to 12th last year. This year, Silas has undoubtedly earned the title of ARCA’s most improved driver.

Nason, Yeager, Gerson, White & Lioce P.A., Holland Pump, Oasis Outsourcing, Palm Beach Grading (PBG) and Rockingham Speedway will all sponsor Silas’s Ford Fusion for his 70th career ARCA start.

The Kansas Lottery 150 (100 laps/150 miles) is the 20th of 21 events on the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The ninth ARCA race held at Kansas is a one-day show. Practice begins Thursday, October 1 with a two hour practice session planned from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Menards Pole by Ansell qualifying is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. The event will take the green flag shortly after 4:00 p.m. The race will be broadcasted live on SPEED and through the ARCA Racing Network (ARN) online at arcaracing.com. All times are local.
