“Silas Hoping Sixth Start Of The Season Yields Career Finish”

KENLY, North Carolina (July 16, 2008) - - Planning to make his sixth start of the 2008 USAR Hooter’s Pro Cup Series season Saturday night at Southern National Raceway Park, Bryan Silas is hoping that luck will be on his side and he can record his first career top-10 finish.

Running a limited schedule in 2008 driving for WJ Plemmons Motorsports, Silas has netted a best start of 18th and has posted two top-20 finishes at USA International Speedway and most recently at Myrtle Beach Speedway.

With his 10th USAR career start ready to fly on Saturday night, Silas knows that points are on the line and he’ll have a competitive car so the rest will be up to him.

“We really took a turning point with our USAR Hooter’s Pro Cup program at Myrtle Beach Speedway and that has everyone looking forward to Saturday night at Southern National Raceway Park. Everyone on the WJ Plemmons Motorsports team has done a great job and we hope to dial our car into the top-10 this weekend,” stated the 21-year old driver.

Silas will head to Southern National Raceway Park on the heels of running the Kentucky ARCA RE/MAX 150 at Kentucky Speedway behind the wheel of his No. 11 Fast Track Racing Ford Fusion Friday night. The Stuart, Florida native knows that having momentum from running a big race like Kentucky Speedway can offer its advantage, but equally be a disadvantage.

“Running the race on Friday night can be an advantage because I’ll be in my rhythm but the biggest challenge for me is competing on a speedway one night and a tight short track the next. That is where mentality comes into play. I have to regroup and reprogram myself and remember that”

Silas added though his biggest challenge will be competing on a facility he does not have any experience at.

“I’ve never been to Southern National Raceway Park but that doesn’t mean we can’t come out of the box and run strong. We’re testing our car this week before we head to the track and hope all the track time will be the perfect piece to the puzzle for us.”

Palm Beach Grading (PBG) and Rockingham Speedway will hold share title sponsorship of Silas’s Ford Fusion in the Crane Cams 250.

Exiting North Carolina, Silas will again refocus on his ARCA RE/MAX Series (No. 11 Nortrax-Shell Rotella T Ford Fusion) program with an open test at Nashville Superspeedway in preparation for the 14th event of the season at Nashville Speedway for the TOYOTA ARCA 150 on Saturday, August 9, 2008.

The Crane Cams 250 is the sixth of eight events on the 2008 USAR Hooter’s Pro Cup South Division schedule. Practice begins Saturday May 19 from 11:00am-1:00pm. Awesome Awnings Pole Qualifying is slated to begin at 4:00pm. The green flag is scheduled to fly shortly after 7:00pm. All times are local. USARprocup.com will provide live timing and scoring for this weekend’s festivities.
