The Daily Record (Dunn, North Carolina)
20 May 1952 (Afternoon Edition)

RALEIGH — (UP) — Gov. Kerr Scott said today that U.S. Highway 301—one of the state's most important and busiest North-South routes—will get the largest share of some $11,000,000 to be spent for overall improvements in the primary highway system between now an Jan. 1, 1953.

Scott said route 301 would get allocations totaling between $3,500,000 and $4,000,000.

The governor said about $1,000,000 of the total will be divided among the state's 10 highway districts for connecting links on secondary roads.
