The Pittsburgh Press
29 November 1955

NEW CASTLE, IND., Nov. 29 (UP)-CIO United Auto Workers at the Perfect Circle Corp. foundry voted by a narrow margin today to end their bloody four-month strike which brought National Guard troops and tanks to this city twice in seven weeks.

The vote was 86 to 72. It came on a secret ballot after a closed-door meeting lasting nearly two and one-half hours.

There was no indication immediately when the strikers would go back to their jobs.
