Subaru To Debut Next-Gen Forester

January 10, 2008

Subaru will be introducing its next generation Forester on the 13th of this month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The vehicle, which has entertained a complete redesign, will reach dealerships by spring this year.

As inherent in every Subaru, the Forester is equipped with symmetrical all-wheel drive as standard, naturally aspirated 2.5-litre boxer engines, an all-new platform with a longer wheelbase and double-wishbone rear suspensions - all have been engineered to boost safety and enhance handling. The sport utility also boasts of quieter ride, increased interior space and cargo room. It comes in a range of trim options including a range-topping Forester L.L. Bean Edition, which offers extra luxury.

"We wanted to convey just how dynamic the Subaru brand is with our latest exhibit," said Tim Mahoney, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Subaru of America, Inc. "The choice of materials, layout and messaging communicate movement and action in the spirit of authentic outdoor adventure and driving performance."

At the Detroit motor show, auto shoppers will be welcomed by the new exhibit that will feature a three-piece cutaway of the all-new, third-generation 2009 Forester that allows customers to get up close and view inside the new vehicle's entire drivetrain including its world renowned Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Reuters said. Additionally, an interior buck, Subaru safety frame, 2.5 liter turbo and 3.6 liter engines will be displayed.

The 2009 Forester, the award-winning crossover utility vehicle, is expected to wow spectators. The all-new Forester builds upon its ancestor's reputation as a symbol of safety, reliability and flexibility. The next-generation 2009 model radiates a bolder, more SUV-like design and makes a major leap in safety technology, comfort, refinement and driving dynamics.

All Forester models for 2009 will be featuring standard side-curtain airbags with a rollover sensor, and the Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) stability and traction control system is made standard for the very first time.

With the Subaru Dynamic Chassis Control Concept (Subaru DC3), the maker of Subaru tune up parts optimized all elements of the Forester's chassis to offer a better balance of ride, handling response, quietness and overall traction performance than offered by rival automakers. A wide array of elements contributes to serve that purpose, including the new, rugged body structure, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, VDC and four-wheel disc ABS brakes with the Brake Assist safety system.

The automaker is poised to offer more jaw-dropping innovations technology- and aesthetic-wise in its upcoming lineup.
