Achieve Perfect Visibility with a Premium Wiper Blade

Achieve Perfect Visibility with a Premium Wiper Blade

On a rainy day, windshields are essentially useless without the windshield wiper. While windshields serve to protect the interior of a car and its passengers from the elements of nature, a windshield will do nothing on its own to improve visibility. No windshield is complete without a windshield wiper and no windshield wiper is complete without the wiper blade. The windshield wiper, together with the wiper blade, keeps rain, sand, snow and even bugs from obscuring the windshield view. It moves in a sweeping motion within the perimeter of the windshield to cast aside any objects that may hinder a car driver from seeing the road as well as surroundings properly. Earlier car models had manual windshield wipers. This meant that in order to clear up the windshield, a moving lever located inside the vehicle had to be moved back and forth by hand. Nowadays, there is an abundance of automatic or intelligent windshield wipers. Most automated windshield wipers are activated by pressing a button or rotating a “switch” located near the steering wheel. Automated windshield wipers have various speed settings that a car owner can regulate depending on the need. Some windshield wipers have rain detectors which automatically set the speed of the wipers based on the amount of rain it detects.

The windshield wiper is an elongated mechanism that pivots back and forth across the windshield. Attached to it is a long rubber blade (called the wiper blade) which looks like a squeegee and serves to wipe off dirt and water from the car’s windshield. Since the wiper blades come into contact with almost all of nature’s elements, it is subject to wear and tear. Its constant exposure to moisture, heat or both may cause the rubber to crack.

Cracked wiper blades do not clean as well and may affect the degree of visibility that a driver has while on the road. Before this happens the windshield wiper must be replaced with a new one. Installing a wiper blade takes only a few hours and can be summed up in three steps. First, carefully pull up the windshield wipers. Second, pull out the old wiper blade. Third, attach the new wiper blade onto the windshield wiper. The new wiper blade should fit snugly with the windshield wiper. Make sure to get the right size of wiper blade for the windshield wiper as this will ensure optimum performance and almost perfect visibility. If it is the first time to replace a car’s wiper blades, it is suggested that a car owner ask an expert mechanic to do the wiper blade installation. For quality wiper blade parts with reasonable prices that are easy on the pocket, make it a habit to check for topnotch wiper blade parts at different online auto parts dealers.
