Bryan Silas Gaining Momentum With Another Solid USAR Performance

ALTAMAHAW, North Carolina (April 5, 2011) - - With his return to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards less than two weeks ago, Stuart, Florida native Bryan Silas couldn’t wait that long to get back behind the wheel of the race car. So after delivering a stunning fifth place finish at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway late last month in the USARacing Pro Cup Series season-opener, the decision was made to participate in the White’s International Trucks 250 presented by Dave’s Discount Furniture at Ace Speedway last Friday night.

By the end of the race it was no April Fool’s Day joke that Silas’s run at New Smyrna was no fluke as another jaw-dropping performance by Silas would be shown. Unfortunately, the team’s bid for two consecutive top-five finishes would be halted inside five laps remaining when the brakes began to fail on the No. 11 Rockingham Speedway / Bryan Silas Racing Ford Fusion thus resulting in a seventh place finish.

Still, the performance was enough to continue to lighten the mood for the Bryan Silas Racing team after starting the event in the 12th spot. Silas avoided carnage and a green-white-checker finish to grab his sixth career top-10 in 22 starts.

“I’m happy overall,” said Silas. “We had a pretty good hot rod. I’m really proud of Dave (McClure, crew chief) and this entire Bryan Silas Racing team. It’s been a total team effort the last two races and we’ve proven that when we come here to race, we mean business.”

Silas closed out the weekend by saying, “the USARacing Pro Cup Series continues to show why it’s one of the most competitive short track racing sanctions. The fun I’m having right now is irreversible. I’m looking forward to more of these runs down the road!”
