Not all of us are financially well-off, and even those who are have learned to make smart purchases. We shouldn't buy things we don't need and consider cheaper, more viable options when shopping. A frugal attitude, however, shouldn't push us to sacrifice quality just because an item has a cheap price tag. More specifically, a used car is a great alternative if a brand new car is out of your budget. A used car for sale at a great price can be a bargain when it's been maintained well.Although usually at cars for sales and cars for sale second hand cars don't come with a warranty, you should still consider getting the following types of used cars since these are built to last without requiring such costly maintenance.

There are a lot of used cars on sale in the market now, but the best of the bunch is the Honda Civic. This car makes the top of my list because it's affordable, runs for cheap, and has low maintenance costs. Its parts are designed for several types of driving conditions, which is why its parts are so durable.

A Ford Ranger is a great purchase for daily use or for work. Not only is this truck well worth your money, it's also very easy to maintain. You can even perform simple repairs and maintenance checks on it yourself. This truck doesn't have to be repaired constantly since it's very durable and has great mileage.

If you're looking for a compact car, however, a standard Subaru Impreza might just be the thing for you. Imprezas are made to handle high-weather climes, and used Imprezas are sold at really low prices. Although a used Impreza may not be as cheap to repair as other compact cars, it more than makes up for it with its amazing ability to handlethe elements, like snow and rain. Regular check-ups are still the best way to keep down your maintenance costs.

If you want a car that's low on gas and maintenance costs, the Hyundai Accent is for you. Since the Accent is the newest model on the list, a used one may be almost as good as new as long as the previous owner took care of it well. Although the Accent may not be the type of car that turns heads, it's great for daily driving and is very durable.

And last but not least, there's the Honda Accord. You might have noticed that there are two Hondas on this list, and that's because these cars are extremely durable and are cheap to maintain. If you have your own family and can't afford a new car, you should consider getting a used Accord, since it's roomy enough for older children. Before purchasing any car, however, make sure you're aware of the current going rate of different models and personally test-drive the car you want to get yourself. Since you're dealing with used cars, you should also ask for service and repair information and have the car inspected by an independent mechanic. There are great deals everywhere, and if you keep these tips in mind, you're sure to get great deals on your used car!
