LKW im Tauerntunnel in Brand geraten

Flachau (Österreich), 12.10.2008 - In der Mitte des Tauerntunnels (A10) ist gestern gegen Mittag ein Sattelschlepper aus Tschechien in Brand geraten. Es wurde niemand verletzt, der Tunnel sollte aber für längere Zeit gesperrt bleiben.

Der Lebensmittel-Sattelzug, der in Fahrtrichtung Salzburg unterwegs war, hatte gegen 13:00 Uhr Feuer gefangen. Der Fahrer wurde von einem anderen LKW-Fahrer vor den Flammen in Sicherheit gebracht. Die Feuerwehr Flachau fuhr von Norden auf den Brand zu. Aus südlicher Richtung wurde die Feuerwehr von dichtem Rauch aufgehalten. Gegen 15:30 Uhr hatte die Feuerwehr den Brand unter Kontrolle. Sie konnte ihn vollständig löschen. Die Brandursache ist bisher noch unklar.

Seit Sonntagmorgen 9 Uhr ist der Verkehr durch den Tunnel wieder freigegeben. Nach dem Brand stellten Techniker Schäden an Funk- und Beleuchtungskabeln fest. Diese sind mittlerweile behoben. Man vermutet, dass der LKW wegen eines technischen Problems mitten im Tunnel in Brand geraten ist.
