Before taking a long trip on the highway, safety conscious people usually test or look over their car. Inspecting the tires reassure that a blow out will not happen. Examine the vehicle for the correct manufactures tire pressure, and inspect the tires for cuts or sharp objects. Try to avoid the trick of road emergency services by checking all very important components on your vehicle.

Most women would prefer a man to get out and check under the hood of a car. They prefer not to damage nails and hands. However, what happens if a woman finds she is stuck out in the middle of nowhere and the tire is flat. She remembers that at one time her brother tried to show her how to go about changing a tire.

The most depressing fact about this situation is the woman is now about to be a victim of expert con artists who wait like vultures on the highway picking at all the road kill. These cheaters are bound to trick unsuspected women stranded on the highway all alone. They usually ride up and down highways and rural roads looking for prey.

Suddenly, strangers drove up and stopped to find out if she wanted any assistance. They quickly flashed what appeared to be legitimate identification and they were driving a commercial like vehicle. She allowed them to examine the tire. While they were investigating, the young woman thought it would be a good idea to ask a few questions about how this tragedy happened.

The rest of the story, well, most have already cracked the case. Nevertheless, there are people lurking all about the byways pretending they can tow your car to a nearby repair shop. Do not fall for this outright lie. Call and verify the identification of the name and hopefully the phone number on the vehicle they are driving.

Even in cases locked keys in the car, take a deep breath, calm down and try to have good judgment in a decision to let a total stranger into your car. It is a shame that it all have to come to such drama and heartaches. People are desperate to make money any way possible. The state of the economy is forcing many to take the criminal route for relief of poverty and pain.

Just because a person does not possess the resources for survival, does not give them permission to rob people of their hard-earned property and money. Even though the above scenario centered on a woman stranded, it could be anyone in that situation. Lawbreakers are not prejudice; they just want what others have. It is just easier when the victim is less likely to have the ability to fight back.

Give these tricksters a big surprise using your back up insurance of survival. Be sure to allow your insurance carrier access to get in or work on your car. It may be a little scary out there alone but get in the car, lock the door and stay put until help arrives. Always take precautions and never assume that people are legitimate roadside units out trying to aid stranded motorist.
