Nickname: The Farmer
Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick, as he is most commonly known, is a drag racer known for driving
Pontiacs. Among his race cars are Mrs. B's Famous Grocery Getter, the Tameless Tiger (I and II), and
Passionate Poncho.
On April 17, 1965 Arnie was the first NHRA Funny Car driver to run a 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds, posting a 9.97 at York, Pennsylvania.
