Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that a company insuring an individual who is at fault in an automobile collision must pay the damages incurred by others in the collision who are not at fault within 5 days of the date the damages are determined.

| AN ACT concerning regulation.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding |

| Section 143.12b as follows:
|

| (215 ILCS 5/143.12b new) |

| Sec. 143.12b. Automobile insurance; paying damages. A |

| company providing automobile insurance to an individual who is |
| 9 |
| at fault in an automobile collision must pay the damages |
| 10 |
| incurred by others in the collision who are not at fault within |
| 11 |
| 5 days of the date the damages are determined.
