Vehicle Manufacturer
A manufacturer of cars and SUVs.  The company originated in 1886 with Karl Benz's first "Benz Patent Motorwagen," but the name "Mercedes-Benz" did not appear as a marque until 1926 following the merger of Karl Benz's company with Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, producers of the Mercedes brand of cars. Headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany.

Many modern Mercedes-Benz models have a name that is a letter, designating the "Class" or chassis/body style, followed by a number, designating the engine. For example, specific models of the E chassis, such as E240 and
E320 and are collectively referred to as the
E-Class. There is also an

GL-Class,
M-Class,
ML-Class,
R-Class, and an
S-Class.
