Northern Illinois Streeters
The Northern Illinois Streeters website is now online! More should be coming soon as the car show season gets going. Joe Salzburg's Streeters news articles have made their way into the Streeters site and the Library archive.
Photographs
This was a great month for new photographs on a wide variety of subjects. Some new technology has allowed me to work more efficiently and spend more time on getting media material on the site. Of course, not much text has made it onto the site as a result, and I hope to find a better balance over the next few months.
Site Layout and Logo
Of course, one of the biggest changes to come about in the last month or so has been the site itself. From my viewpoint, operations are more streamlined to allow site additions and changes with less work, giving me more time to add more information and photographs. Hopefully from your viewpoint the site is easier to navigate and aesthetically pleasing.
Part of the changes involved making a smaller yet still easy to read logo. After a day of playing with ideas and designs, the green wheel you see on the site now was created.
Plastic Meltdown
C.A.R.S. in Miniature is going to be hosting their annual Plastic Meltdown in Crystal Lake, Illinois this summer. August 11 is tentatively scheduled for the event, the place likely to be the Algonquin Township Center.
John Walczak, my father-in-law, is chairing the committee, so that of course means my participation in the committee is assumed. Being on the committee and supporting the club I've created a website for the Meltdown at meltdown.carsandracingstuff.com. More information should be online and the site will officially launch a few days after the first committee meeting.
