Kansas Recap: ARS (ARCA RE/MAX Series) rookie Nick Tucker made his Kansas Speedway debut last Friday night in the Kansas Lottery $150 Grand. After qualifying on time (31) he shook down a brand new car to finish 27th.

Inaugural Event: Tucker, an employee for Evernham Motorsports will attempt to make his ARCA RE/MAX Series Winchester Speedway debut on Sunday. The team is bringing the same Dodge Charger that Tucker roared to a 15th place finish in his ARS debut at USA International Speedway in March. The machine also finished a solid 16th place finish two weeks ago at Salem Speedway in Salem , Indiana .

Previous Short Track Experience: Tucker has two short track starts (half-mile and under) in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Martinsville Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway. His best start and finish came at the tricky Martinsville Speedway where he qualified 33rd and finished a notable 20th.

On Kansas : “We learned a lot with the new car and that’s important. We didn’t have a whole lot of time in practice to figure things out, but we made the field on time and finished the race. We did everything we needed to do at Kansas . I’m ready to get back to short tracks.”

On Winchester Speedway : “I am feeling good about this weekend. We’re taking the same we finished 15th and 16th with this season. It has proven to be a good car; we just need a little luck. The car was capable of finishing in the top-five at Salem , but we had some minor issues that kept us at bay. I think everything will come into place and we’ll be good on Sunday.”

On His Team: “This Carter-2-Motorsports team can overcome anything. They have proved it over and over again. They are a hard and dedicated bunch. They are all hungry for another run like we had at Salem . They better be prepared, we might do some celebrating Sunday night.”

On Points: “We’re 22nd in owner’s points. We’ve gained ten positions since Salem Speedway which is just two races and pretty impressive. We are working hard to establish a good team and I think we’re making great strides. We have a chance to be in the top-20 by the time we roll into Kentucky next Friday.”

The Winchester ARCA 200 (200 laps/100 miles) is the sixth of 23 events on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Practice begins Saturday, May 5 with an hour and a half (1:30pm-3:00pm Local Time) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is slated for later in the afternoon at 4:15pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag on Sunday, May 6 shortly after 1:00pm Local Time. The event will not be televised. However, race coverage can be found online at arcaracing.com
