Nick Tucker Says Bring On Winchester

WINCHESTER, Indiana (May 4, 2007) - - While Nick Tucker enjoys competing on the bigger tracks, he doesn’t complain when the ARCA RE/MAX Series (ARS) makes a stop at a short track. For the third time this season, the ARS will head to a smaller track for Sunday’s Winchester ARCA 200.

Tucker, driving Carter-2-Motorsports Dodge’s has excelled on the short tracks of USA International Speedway ( Lakeland ) and Salem Speedway with 15th and 16th finishes respectively. With the team’s best efforts of the season locked in, Tucker is ready to make a jump and put the No. 48 FreeFeds.org Dodge Charger into the top-10.

“I cannot wait for Sunday,” said Tucker, a native of North Carolina . “Carter-2-Motorsports has been really strong on the short tracks. We easily should have finished in the top-five at Salem two weeks ago, but we ran into some problems during the race that set us back. We recovered. But I want my first ARCA top-10 finish this weekend.”

The C2M (Carter-2-Motorsports) team will bring the same Dodge Charger that the team has run in those previous short track events which brings ease to Tucker’s mind. “This is one of the best cars we have in the shop and it’s shown. I feel really strong about this car. It doesn’t have a scratch on it. I would like to take this car to all the short tracks races, but we have to have a little luck on our side to do that.”

Despite missing the season opener at Daytona International Speedway, Tucker sits 25th in ARCA RE/MAX Series driver points and he is looking to climb the ladder. “I would like to think that I can position myself to inch up the ladder and move us closer to the top in both owner and driver standings. We’ve put a lot of work into this team since we announced our intentions last December. We really have come a long way in a short time, but we have to continue to work at that same pace all season long to really make a difference.”

James Hylton, a legendary name and face in the ARCA garage will be on-hand to assist the C2M team this weekend at Winchester . Hylton retired from fulltime ARCA RE//MAX Series racing last year and has been a huge impact to this rookie team and Tucker feels the group will only continue to learn.

“I couldn’t think of going to a race without James being around,” Tucker added. “He is the group leader. He knows what he is doing and tries to teach us all. From the car to the spotter and to the driver, he makes room to talk to us all, and it has an enormous impact. There’s never a dull moment when “ Harvey ” is around.”

The Free Feds Foundation (FreeFeds.org) will sponsor Tucker as he attempts to make his fifth career ARCA start Sunday.

FreeFeds.org’s sole purpose is to gain public support for adding parole for non-violent, non repeat offenders to the federal prison system. They are of the belief that the federal justice system is in need of a total reform. The organization, however, is mainly interested in working toward adding a system of parole for non-violent offenders as part of that overall reform.

In addition to FreeFeds.org, Explore America, The Idaho Observer, RVrentToGo.com, 100fold.net, and Accelerating Developments International (ADI) will join the team’s effort in the 20th RE/MAX Series event held at Winchester Speedway.

Carter-2-Motorsports (www.carter2motorsports.com) whose ARCA RE/MAX Series operation is based in Statesville , North Carolina will run Dodge Chargers in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR Nextel Cup Series (NNC) in 2007. The team will run the No. 48 handed over from the legendary James Hylton who retired from ARCA competition following the 2006 season finale at the new Iowa Speedway. The organization will also run a second ARCA team part time this season utilizing the No. 67. The organization also plans to run the No. 54 in the premier series of NASCAR, the NNC series later this year.

The Winchester ARCA 200 (200 laps/100 miles) is the sixth of 23 events on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Practice begins Saturday, May 5 with an hour and a half (1:30pm-3:00pm Local Time) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is slated for later in the afternoon at 4:15pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag on Sunday, May 6 shortly after 1:00pm Local Time. The event will not be televised. However, race coverage can be found online at arcaracing.com
