The ARCA RE/MAX Series held ARCA SIM Factory time trials late Saturday evening. The qualifying session was stalled several hours thanks to heavy rain showers hovering around the Winchester , Indiana based track. The session set the starting grid for Sunday’s Winchester ARCA 200, the sixth of 23 events on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule.

DEXTER BEAN, NO. 6 FIVE STAR TELECOM CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO :

“It was a great lap, but I left some out on the table. We gained five points on Frank Kimmel thanks to our qualifying positions and that helps, but the real focus is tomorrow’s race. We have a great car, I think we can win. We have a plan tomorrow and I don’t plan to let anything stand in my way.”

DOMINICK CASOLA, NO. 1 A. CASOLA FARMS FORD TAURUS:

NOTE: Casola posted a career-best qualifying effort today in only his fifth ARCA RE/MAX Series start. His previous best start came in his inaugural Nashville Superspeedway debut last month where he posted the 20th fastest lap in time trials.

“I’m really happy with that lap. Our No. 1 A. Casola Farms Ford is running very good this weekend. I like the track. The more I’m in an ARCA RE/MAX Series car, the more comfortable I get. Today was a statement to that. I came into this weekend looking to post career bests, I’ve done it in one spot. I need to back it up during the race tomorrow. It won’t be an easy task, but it’s definitely doable.”

PHILLIP MCGILTON, NO. 47 MONTGOMERY EQUIPMENT FORD FUSION

Practice Time: Ninth (17.085 seconds, 105.356 MPH)

Qualifying Draw: 35/36

Qualifying Time: 16.367 seconds, 109.977 MPH

Starting Position: Second (Outside pole)

NOTE: McGilton and the Brewco Motorsports team have picked up new sponsorship for the remainder of the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season. Montgomery Equipment Company, Inc. and Midwest Equipment Inc. have partnered up to become the primary sponsor of McGilton and the No. 47 Ford Fusion for the remaining 19 ARCA events of the season. McGilton’s ARS entry will be referred to as the No. 47 Montgomery Equipment Ford Fusion.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: For the third straight week, McGilton posted a career-best qualifying effort. His effort of second today succeeds his previous best of fourth last Friday at Kansas Speedway.

“I said it earlier our car is really good. The Brewco Motorsports team have done a fantastic job preparing this car for tomorrow’s race. We’re going to play it conservative tomorrow and be around when it counts. We picked up a lot from practice to qualifying. That just tells you how good our car is. It’s very smooth and fast, we’re going to be a factor.”

BRYAN SILAS, NO. 11 NORTRAX-SHELL ROTELLA T CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO

Practice Time: 27th (18.177, 99.026 MPH)

Qualifying Time: 17.276 seconds, 104.191 MPH

Qualifying Position: 22

Starting Position: 22

“I’m feeling a lot better after that run than I was earlier today. The Fast Track Racing team did a phenomenal job putting this car back together after our encounters in practice. Our goal for the race is to play the same strategy we played in Salem . We were smart, saved our equipment and persevered with a top-10 (eighth) finish. We plan to do that again tomorrow hopefully with even a better effort.”

NICK TUCKER, NO. 48 FREEFEDS.org DODGE CHARGER

Practice Time: 17th (17.355 seconds, 103.717 MPH)

Qualifying Draw: 36/36

Starting Position: 11

NOTE: Tucker posted a career-best qualifying effort today at Winchester Speedway. Tucker surpassed his previous personal best of 12th two weeks ago at Salem Speedway.

“That’s an awesome effort by this Carter-2-Motorsports team. We’ve been strong on the short tracks all season long and today is no exception. Our car is handling great and I’m really looking forward to Sunday’s race. I would like nothing more than to close our weekend with a top-10 finish for our team and sponsors.”
