The Crittenden Automotive Library Update: May 2007

This is a short update, one that really doesn't show just how much work and new material went on to the site this month.

ARCA Racing News

Well, every once in a while we try a new feature, or eliminate a feature, or simplify a feature.  I've eliminated the Calendar of events page from the site, as it was getting tedious to maintain and didn't get many visitors.

However, we just added a new feature.  For ARCA racing fans, there is now a self-updating (the "self" being me) news feed available for their websites.  Thanks to a large amount of constantly new content from Chris Knight and soon featuring links to other sites, this news feed will hopefully fill a small niche for stock car racing fans.

Most of the news for that feed will come from articles by Chris Knight, PR Guy Extraordinaire for many of the teams competing in ARCA these days. You can browse the whole bunch of them in our articles index.

NASCAR Wins

Now, any driver who ever won a race in NASCAR's top series, from 1949-2006, has a Topic page in the Library with a Win List, even if that list is only 1 win.  This also includes the Busch Series from 1982-2006 and the Craftsman Truck Series from 1995-2006.

Data from that project was also added to the Historical Calendar.

Indianapolis 500

I wasn't able to make a trip to get more information, but I was able to find something special for Indy month.  3 articles about the 1911 Indianapolis 500 are now on the site, two about pre-race events and one postrace article about the injuries sustained to drivers and riding mechanics (they called them mechanicians then) during the event.
