“Stott Classic Racing Looking For Positive Finish In Short Track Debut”

TOLEDO, Ohio (May 17, 2007) - - Coming off a career best 17th place finish last Saturday night at Kentucky Speedway, Billy Tanner steers towards Toledo Speedway this weekend to looking to make his short track debut behind the wheel of his No. 07 CheapCaribbean.com Pontiac Grand Prix for Stott Classic Racing (SCR).

Tanner, a successful dirt track racer from Pennsylvania won’t have to battle speeds approaching 200 MPH, instead he’ll have to battle 35 cars on a half-mile track all going for the same spot. Oh did anyone mention to him some beating and banging along the way too?

“I’m not really sure what to expect this weekend,” said Tanner. “My first two ARCA races came at Daytona International Speedway and Kentucky Speedway and those tracks were completely different. Now we’re heading to Toledo Speedway and it’s a whole new ballgame. Looking at the entry list, it’s going to be another tight field, but our team learned a lot last weekend and I think we can bring a strong performance to Toledo this weekend.”

Rolling into Toledo , Tanner is in the second of 12 races with SCR and sponsor CheapCaribbean.com as the group is using this season as track time to prepare for a full season run in 2008.

“We’re using this year to gain familiarity about the ARCA RE/MAX Series, the cars and the tracks,” explained Tanner. “It’s our intent to run for a championship next season and we’re using all 12 races with SCR to learn, learn and learn. Hopefully we’ll learn a lot this weekend and bring our sponsor home a good finish.”

Crew chief and car owner Corrie Stott is equally excited about Toledo Speedway this weekend and the challenges it may bring. “ Toledo should be a lot of fun. I’ve seen some of the races there in the past and they are very competitive. Even with Billy’s lack of experience on the short tracks in the ARCA series, I think he will do just fine this weekend. Billy is getting better every race. Even last weekend, his knowledge continues to grow and his communication continues to improve, I’m really impressed with Billy and looking forward to seeing what he can do this weekend.”

The Hantz Group 200 by Federated Auto Care (200 laps/100 miles) is the eighth of 23 events on the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Practice begins Saturday, May 19 with an hour and a half ( 12:30pm-2:00pm Local Time) session planned. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is slated for later in the afternoon at 3:30pm Local Time. The event will take the green flag Sunday beginning at 12:00pm Local Time. The event will be televised live on SPEED with additional race coverage online at arcaracing.com
