Brooklyn, MI (June 13, 2007) - As NASCAR Drivers time with their families is shortened by the lengthy race schedules each series has, so every moment they can capture together at or away from the racetrack is precious. This weekend Bill Lester will not only be heading to the Michigan International Speedway for the 10th race of the 25 race NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, but will also be having a mini family reunion.
Lester, his wife Cheryl and two sons Alex and Austin will be joining his sister and her family along with his parents to celebrate Father’s Day together. Lester credits his father for his success; not only on the race track, in school or during his tenure at HP, but mainly for motivation and support his dad has shown no matter what he has chosen to do.
“I'm bringing my family with me on this trip so my sons can spend time with their cousins who live in Ann Arbor with my sister and brother in law,” Lester said. “My parents will be in Michigan (from California ) too for the weekend so we'll have a mini family reunion which will be nice.”
Lester who will pilot the No. 15 Christian Debt Consolidation Billy Ballew Motorsports Chevy Silverado has one NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series start in 2006 and five Craftsman Truck Series starts at the 2-mile racetrack. His best start was in the fifth place position in 2003 and 2005 and a best finish of 11th in 2003 at the track in Brooklyn , MI
“We didn’t have a good truck last year,” Lester said. “We were too loose on entry into the center and thus slow off if I remember right. I’m looking forward to heading to the track this year in the No. 15 Christian Debt Consolidation Billy Ballew Motorsports Chevy Silverado. The truck we are bringing is conducive to a racetrack like Michigan where it is full of speed with lots of room to pass. The draft comes back into play here too, so I enjoy that aspect of it. I made my second Cup start here last year so I have fond memories of the place.”
The Michigan 200 is slated to begin Saturday, June 16, 2006 at 3:00 pm ET and will be televised live on SPEED beginning at 2:30pm ET and can be heard on MRN and their affiliate stations.
