Dukes of Hazzard Fans 150

Hickory, NC - The International Sport Compact Auto Racing Series (ISCARS) DASH Touring returns to action Saturday in the DUKES OF HAZZARD FANS “150.”

On display will be several Warner Brothers authenticated General Lee show cars from the popular television series. Byron Cherry, alias Coy Duke, and Jerry Rushing, the real life inspiration for the show, will be on hand to greet fans and sign autographs.

The racing action includes 150 laps for ISCARS DASH Touring, 35 laps for the Carolina Ford Focus Midgets, and 50 laps for the Southeast Super Mini Cups. Fans will be able to purchase an all access pass to view up close the General Lee cars on display along with dozens of Chargers from bygone years. The car show is presented as a stop on the Dukes of Hazzard Car Club annual cruise, which begins this year in Hickory and ends in Gatlinburg, TN.

Randy Humphrey, of nearby Cornelius, will look to make it two wins in a row as he makes this trip to his home arena. Humphrey’s racing team is managed by former series and Hickory track champion, Robert Huffman.

Danny Bagwell comes to Hickory with the ISCARS Championship Points lead. The series will close out the season with this event at Hickory and then the final at Tri-County in nearby Hudson on Saturday, October 20th.

Joey Miller won the pole at Orange County and has been a contender in most events this year. Miller, like Humphrey, has gone winless in the series for many years. He is due for a trip to Victory Lane.

Another North Carolina driver, J. Matt Johnson, from North Wilkesboro, holds a slim lead over Gary Young and Brandon Burris for the Rookie of the Year honors.
