DAYTONA BEACH, FL - ISCARS DASH Touring veteran Justin Hobgood teamed up with Billy Bishop of Athens Georgia to compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event in Daytona.

Bishop also owns a DASH car and has been involved in the series for years entering speedway events. He has been working on a truck deal for several years, and Speedweeks in Daytona was a realization of his efforts to make the field at the prestigious event.

“We worked really hard over the winter and I called on Justin to be my driver. His father Will Hobgood and brother Jake jumped right in and helped us with the effort,” commented Bishop.

Hobgood was among some ten teams that had to get in on time. He qualified 32nd in the 36 truck field and finished in 20th place.

At the start of the race Hobgood moved up several positions and showed tremendous patience while running well in the draft.

Will Hobgood sat on the pit box and timed each lap for Justin. Jake Hobgood worked as a tire changer. Another ISCARS driver, Scott Krehling, served as Justin’s spotter.

Randy Humphrey teamed up as co-owner with Phil Parsons on two NASCAR Nationwide Series teams.

Wayne Edwards, who competed in the DASH Series for several seasons is also now a regular in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Brian Sockwell, a former DASH Series winner at Daytona failed in his attempt to qualify for the truck event.
