SBR PRODUCTIVE IN PRACTICE

Stone Brothers Racing
November 19, 2010

Stone Brothers Racing have had a productive start to the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge event with all three Falcons finishing inside the top 15 at the conclusion of Practice today [Friday]. SP Tools Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen finished the day 5th quickest, and Tim Slade in 13th while Alex Davison worked towards a base setup for his new IRWIN Racing Falcon, finishing 14th fastest for the day.

Shane van Gisbergen – Driver, SP Tools Racing Car #9

“Today was good, I really didn’t get the best out of the first set of tyres and was just getting used to the track again, we were just playing into it and tuning the car up. When we put new tyres on the car was great, in the end we decided to save them for tomorrow, we will keep the car as it is tonight and try some things in qualifying tomorrow.

“The guys that finished quicker have a bit more pace but there is definitely plenty left in the SP Tools Falcon.”

Tim Slade – Driver, Wilson Security Raving Car #47

“It was a productive day, we made some changes after our first session and probably didn’t get the ideal direction we would have liked so we went back on a bit of stuff, as you do in practice you tend to make a fair few changes in order to make slight gains here and there and I think we achieved that at the end.”

Alex Davison – Driver, IRWIN Racing Car #4

“It really wasn’t too bad today, we started off good but probably hit a brick wall in the middle two sessions but again started to improve at the end and found a bit of direction. There is a bit more in it on good tyres and for sure we need to improve it a bit more but there is plenty of promising signs there.

“At the moment we are still in the progress of trying to nail a good base setup for the new car which I think we are achieving but its early days, between Symmons Plains and today there have been some really good encouraging signs already.”

The V8 Supercars will be back on track tomorrow for qualifying at 11:20am before the 39 lap race at 4:05pm.
