WASHINGTON, DC — March 9, 2006 — QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leader in providing business-to-business wireless platforms, applications, and services, today announced an initiative to help increase the likelihood of recovering abducted children. The AMBER Alert Highway Network, through a partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC), redistributes AMBER Alerts directly to truck drivers, significantly broadening the audience of those who can watch for abducted children. The new initiative has the support of the American Trucking Associations, and the potential to add thousands of trucks and drivers to the AMBER Alert Highway Network.

Initial members of the AMBER Alert Highway Network include Wal-Mart; Tyson Foods, Inc.; Omaha, Nebraska-based Cornhusker Motor Lines, Inc.; bulk liquid commodities carrier Distribution Technologies, Inc.; regional transportation company G&P Trucking; Chattanooga, Tennessee-based U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc.; national transportation and brokerage company Pottles Transportation, Inc.; and tanker specialists Grammer Industries Inc. Combined, these companies dispatch more than 20,000 drivers across the country every day.

Secondary methods of distribution such as QUALCOMM’s initiative, which delivers Alerts through the OmniTRACS® mobile communications solution, assist in achieving the overall goal of the AMBER Alert program – to notify as many people as possible about a recent child abduction, and provide information that can help in the search for the abducted child, suspected abductor, and/or suspected vehicle and in the safer return of the child. For drivers to receive Alerts through on-board communications solutions, transportation carriers must be enrolled in the AMBER Alert Highway Network. The AMBER Alert Highway Network is similar to the Wal-Mart RoadWatch program, a collaboration between QUALCOMM, NCMEC and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., which ensures Wal-Mart drivers receive geographically relevant missing-child bulletins.

Each of the 50 United States has a statewide AMBER Alert program, as do the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Since the program’s inception in 1997, AMBER Alerts have been credited with the successful recovery of more than 240 children.
