Sam’s Club Speeds into the Celebrity Track with Gabrielle Reece and John Cena Behind the Wheel

BENTONVILLE, ARK., June 15, 2007 – Warehouse retail giant Sam’s Club is getting into the fast lane of reality TV, sponsoring a racecar in “Fast Cars and Superstars – The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race.” The new ABC show is Gillette’s first venture into reality television, pitting celebrities against each other in NASCAR-style racing, with a bit of tutoring from real racecar drivers. The Sam’s Club Superstar drivers will be volleyball great and model Gabrielle Reece and World Wrestling Entertainment Champion John Cena.

“Sam’s Club is thrilled to be part of this fast-paced, exciting new reality show,” said Matt Kistler, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Research and Insights at Sam’s Club. “We are proud to be a part of Gillette’s venture into reality television. Gillette, like Sam’s Club, continues to set standards within its industry.”

A total of 12 celebrity drivers will partner with the “Gillette Young Guns,” six of NASCAR’s brightest and most talented stars, to learn to compete for the checkered flag.

As the show explores the young stock car racers’ interaction with celebrities, viewers will see drama and competition on and off the track. “Fast Cars & Superstars – Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race” comprises six half-hour episodes with an hour-long finale. The show airs on ABC every Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST.

In addition to delighting viewers with celebrities, speed and drama, Sam’s Club Members can join other consumers in getting involved in the show by checking out the Web site www.gygtv.com for more details, including celebrity profiles. Now that the race is on, fans can also vote for which celebrity they think will be eliminated and enter for great prizes.
