‘John King, Jr to Pilot the No. 5 Ford F150 for Richie Wauters’

John King will make his return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Kentucky Speedway piloting the No. 5 Wauters Motorsports Ford F150. King, the winner of the series season opener at Daytona International Speedway, participated in the first five 2012 Camping World Truck Series events.

“I’m really looking forward to being back at the race track after a bit of a rollercoaster season since winning at Daytona in February,” John King said. “Richie Wauters is a veteran crew chief with the most sought after equipment and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to drive for him and Ford. Racing is what I love to do and I’m hoping to give Richie and the guys on the Wauters Motorsports team a solid finish in Kentucky.”

The Kingsport, Tenn., native began his racing career in the Fastrak and StormPay.com Sanctioned Crate Late Model Series during the 2006 and 2007 season. In 2009, he was a part of the Bill Elliott Driver Development program competing in UARA-STARS Late Model Series. King scored a 15th-place finish in his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2010. To date King has posted one win and two top-10 finishes in just 12 starts.

Wauters Motorsports returns to the series for the first time since Atlanta Motor Speedway where the team posted their best finish in 2012 of fifth-place with Aric Almirola as the driver.

“I’m looking forward to having John in the truck with us this weekend,” Team owner, Richie Wauters said. “He is a good short track driver and comes from the Late Model Series which I feel teaches these young drivers how to handle the equipment better when moving up the ladder into the NASCAR divisions.”

The Kentucky 201 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is slated for Friday, September 21, 2012 at 7:30pm. SPEED will broadcast live televised coverage of the 134 lap, 201 mile race from Kentucky Speedway beginning at 7:00pm. MRN and Sirius Satellite radio will begin live radio coverage beginning at 7:15pm.
