CHICAGO, Ill., February 21, 2013 - Besides offering Chicago Auto Show attendees the opportunity to drive a variety of new vehicles, Toyota's "Let's Go For A Ride" indoor experiential program raised $16,662 for a trio of national charities.
This year, Toyota partnered with three esteemed charities in the company's "Drive for A Cause" campaign. For those 16,662 show attendees who fully participated in the indoor ride and drive, they had the opportunity to choose from one of the three charities - American Red Cross, AMVETS and National Parks Foundation - for Toyota to make a contribution of one dollar per drive to that organization on their behalf.
"We would like to thank the Chicago Auto Show attendees who participated in our indoor ride and drive program," said Keith Dahl, National Motorsports Engagement Marketing Manager at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. "While we hope it was an enjoyable experience for these Chicagoans, they proved instrumental in helping us raise money for three worthwhile charities."
Inspired by Toyota's new slogan, "Let's Go Places," this course provided show goers with personalized rides in several Toyota vehicles. The "Let's Go For A Ride" course, spanning more than 30,000 square feet of McCormick Center's South Hall, involved Toyota products such as the Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Prius c, Prius v, RAV4 and Venza.
While navigating this fun, educational closed course, participants learned more about Toyota's new design and styling philosophy, industry-leading fuel efficiency measures, safety features in the company's Star Safety System, successful motorsports pursuits and its award-winning, in-car Entune(r) multimedia system.
