Should T-W-D be banned?

Should T-W-D be banned?

A recent survey of readers indicates that the major of those responding believe that texting-while-driving should be banned in Illinois.

Just how much distraction to a driver is it, when he pays enough attention to his BlackBerry or his cell phone to tap in a text message and send it? Plenty!

Forty-eight (48) readers responded.

35 (73%) readers believe Texting While Driving should be banned in Illinois.
13 (27%) readers don't. (I wonder if they texted their No's to this site.)

Next time you see a driver texting while his vehicle is moving, give a ring to your local law enforcement jurisdiction, especially if that driver is weaving in his lane, driving off onto the shoulder, crossing the centerline or tailgating.
